Svea Solar

UX,UI
Project Overview

The primary objective of this project was to enhance the user experience (UX) of the website for a solar panel company. Through a comprehensive redesign, our aim was to improve usability, accessibility, and overall engagement for both existing and potential customers.

Our Goal

Our mission was simple: to build the ultimate website for solar panel users. Through meticulous design and user-focused features, we aimed to provide a seamless experience for those exploring solar energy. With clear navigation, comprehensive resources, and a vibrant community, we're dedicated to empowering users on their journey to sustainable living.

My Contributions

My contributions across UX research, wireframing, and prototyping, as well as low-fi and hi-fi design, were instrumental in shaping the user experience of the redesigned website. By leveraging user insights and design best practices, I helped create a website that not only meets the needs of our target audience but also aligns with the company's brand identity and business objectives.

UX Research

Wireframing

UI Design

Our design process commenced with thorough research, focusing on both user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) aspects. This research involved extensive analysis of user behaviors, industry standards, and competitor offerings.

Following the research phase, we delved into wireframing, constructing foundational frameworks of the website to outline structure and functionality. Wireframes facilitated discussions around information architecture and user flow, ensuring intuitive navigation.

From wireframes, we transitioned to low-fidelity (low-fi) designs, adding basic visual elements and minimal styling to iterate rapidly on design concepts. Feedback from stakeholders and internal reviews guided refinements to the layout and structure.

Once low-fi designs were refined, we elevated them to high-fidelity (hi-fi) designs, incorporating detailed visual elements such as typography, imagery, and interactive components. These refined designs provided stakeholders with a tangible representation of the final product.

Throughout the process, we embraced an iterative approach, continuously refining the design based on internal feedback and usability testing. This iterative cycle ensured alignment with user-centric principles and the company's brand identity, driving the website towards an exceptional user experience.

Our solution

To meet Svea Solar's goal of attracting new customers to buy solar panels and learn more about renewable energy, we reimagined both the UI and UX. We designed a modern, intuitive interface that simplifies navigation and highlights the benefits of solar power. By optimizing the user flow and incorporating educational content in an engaging way, we improved user engagement. The clean, minimalist design enhances trust while strategically placed calls-to-action (CTAs) guide users through the purchasing journey, driving conversions and awareness.

My reflection

The project went well, with seamless collaboration between the team and myself. Our communication and shared vision allowed us to develop a strong, user-friendly foundation for the website. I believe the final design provides a solid basis for future growth, helping Svea Solar continue their mission of attracting new customers. Although my internship ended before further iterations, I am confident the groundwork we laid will support future improvements and innovations.
